What to expect

“You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do.”

Eleanor Roosevelt

Initial Consultation

I understand that taking the first step to ask for help takes courage. You may feel anxious and not knowing what to expect. I will invite you for an initial consultation where we can discuss your goals and expectations. This is a good opportunity for us to get to know each other, ask questions and see whether we can work together. This session usually last for 50 minutes and charged at a reduced rate, £40.

Every counsellor works differently. The relationship between counsellor and clients is crucial. The work can be less effective without a good relationship. The most important thing is that you find someone with whom you are able to feel comfortable enough to share your difficulties, thoughts and feelings.

Ongoing sessions

I offer short and long-term, face-to-face counselling. Sessions are on a regular basis each week and usually take place on the same day at the same time. I understand this is not always possible. I will try to accommodate any changes due to unforeseen circumstances. Counselling sessions last 50 minutes for individuals and 60 minutes for couples.

I am available to work with wide range of difficulties such as
  • depression, anxiety, trauma

  • childhood abuse

  • low self-esteem

  • relationship and family difficulties

  • work-related stress

  • bereavement and loss

  • identity and cultural issues

  • health related difficulties

My aim is, through our work together, to help you develop a deeper understanding and acceptance of yourself and also to help you to develop the skills and competencies so that you can take responsibility for freeing yourself of some of the life patterns that may have been holding you back.
