Counselling for individuals, couples and adult relationships
Contact meWelcome. I believe that every person is unique, and I help you face your challenges in the way that is right for you. For both individuals and adult relationships I offer a safe, reflective, warm, and neutral space to explore your needs and make sense of the difficulties you find yourself in.
I will gently challenge and empower you so you can make changes for yourself and in your relationship with others. I am patient, supportive, and curious, helping you to find greater compassion for yourself and towards others.
I welcome clients from all backgrounds. I am neurodiversity aware and LGBTQIA+ friendly.
There are times in all of our lives when we experience situations, difficult emotions or disturbing thoughts that we cannot make sense of, or do not know how to respond to. Counselling can offer a safe and reflective space to begin to explore and make sense of the chaos we sometimes find ourselves in.
I offer a short, 15 minutes, free initial phone call to answer all of your questions you may have about the counselling process.
If you prefer, you also have the option to meet with me face-to-face. This would be an extended initial consultation, charged at my full rate. During this time, we can speak in more depth, I can gather relevant information from you, and we can explore the issues you’re experiencing as well as your goals for counselling.
Ways We Can Work Together
Individual Counselling
Counselling enables you to explore, in depth, what is troubling you and to discover what the underlying issues may be. It encourages you to take an honest look at your current thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and helps you find different ways of coping.
Individual sessions last 60 minutes and are charged at £60.
Couples and Adult Relationship Counselling
I trained as a relationship counsellor with Relate, and I work with couples and adult relationships of every kind. I offer a neutral space where both of you can be heard, so that together you can make sense of the difficulties you find yourselves in and make changes in your relationship with one another.
Relationship sessions last 60 minutes and are charged at £85.
Face-to-Face, Online and Telephone Sessions
I offer counselling face to face, online and by telephone, so we can find ways of working that fits around your life. Whichever we choose, sessions are on a regular basis each week, which creates a consistent and contained space that is just for you.
An Integrative Approach
I believe healing happens through connection which is why relational approach is at the centre of my work. I also draw elements from other approaches like psychodynamic, person-centred, cognitive, and systematic therapy. I use creative tools and art to express emotions that often feel stuck. We work together to decide what suits you the best which means I may work slightly differently with each individual.

Get in touchAbout Me
Eszter Lukacsi, MBACP — a qualified counsellor working with individuals, couples and adult relationships
I am a qualified and experienced counsellor offering counselling to individuals, couples and adult relationships.
People say they find it easy to discuss matters with me, and that they appreciate my kind guidance and patient approach. Counselling with the therapist who is right for you does change lives completely.
I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and I fully adhere to its code of ethics.
I have always been drawn to people and have had a strong desire to support and help others in whatever way I could. After spending 15 years working in hospitality, I felt ready for something different. My own experience of relationship counselling opened the door to a new path and inspired me to train as a counsellor.
I completed my counselling training while raising children, and I genuinely enjoyed every part of the journey, both personal and professional. It was a time of learning, growth and discovering how much I value being alongside people as they navigate their own experiences.
Moving to the UK from another country and building a life here has not always been easy. It has, however, given me a deeper appreciation of the challenges that can come with cultural differences, adapting to a new environment and finding a sense of belonging. I believe these experiences have helped me develop greater understanding and curiosity about people’s individual backgrounds and perspectives.
Outside of counselling, I recently learned to swim, which has deepened my love of being around water. I also enjoy the simple things in life, especially spending time with my family and having a cuddle with our much-loved family cat.
Qualifications and Training
Qualifications I have gained over the past years are:
- Relate Certificate in Relational Counselling
- Integrative Therapeutic Counselling (BTEC Level 5 Diploma)
- Counselling Skills and Theories (BTEC Level 3 Certificate)
- Counselling Skills and Theories (BTEC Level 2 Certificate)
- Certificate in Play Therapy
Experience
I previously worked at Relate Avon, which is part of the UK’s largest provider of relationship counselling and sex therapy, as a relationship counsellor, and at Phoenix Counselling Services, an affordable and accessible community-based therapy service in London. With the help of this organisation I also had the pleasure of working with children in a referral unit.
I believe that who we are is shaped by all of our experiences, relationships and the journeys we take. I bring my professional experience, but also my own life experiences, warmth and genuine curiosity into my work with clients.
Why Counselling
A safe and reflective space to explore what is troubling you
There are times in all of our lives when we experience situations, difficult emotions, disturbing thoughts that we cannot make sense of or do not know how to respond to. We may have to face specific life events that overwhelm us, such as loss; the end of a relationship; a change in circumstances, employment, or health.
We might have bottled up our feelings for so long that we reach a point where we cannot go any further without some changes. We find ourselves replaying the same old patterns over and over, repeating the same unhelpful behaviours. Other times we feel that stress, anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem are getting in the way of living our lives to the fullest. And sometimes, we just don’t have the words to describe what is happening with us.
Not knowing what to do or how to respond to emotions and situations often makes us feel helpless and stuck.
How would I know what to do when I do not even know what is happening with me? How can I move forward with my life when I have lost any sense of purpose and meaning?
Counselling can offer us a safe and reflective space to start to explore and make sense of the chaos that we sometimes find ourselves in. It enables us to explore, in depth, what is troubling us and discover what the underlying issues may be. It encourages us to take an honest look at our current thoughts, feelings and behaviours. It helps us to find different ways of coping.
In any given moment, we have two options: to step forward into growth or to step back into safety.
